On May 29th, Yuecheng won the title of "Top 10 Foreign Trade Strong Counties (Cities and Districts) in Zhejiang Province" at the conference of "No.1 Open Project" to improve the capacity of the province's " Sweet Potato Economy ". From the data, since this year, Yuecheng's foreign trade economy has also shown an upward trend. From January to April, the import and export volume of foreign trade in the entire region reached 35.464 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39%, ranking first in the city. Among them, exports amounted to 30.441 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.72%, and the change in export share ranked first in the province.
In the current complex international situation, this achievement has not come easily. This year, the Provincial Party Committee proposed for the first time in the New Year to implement the "Sweet Potato Economy" and upgrade the "No.1 Open Project", requiring all regions to adhere to high-level going global and high-quality introduction to strengthen the organic unity of Zhejiang, and create a more resilient, dynamic, and competitive "Sweet Potato Economy". As a gathering place of domestic textile and clothing industry, Yuecheng gathered foreign trade enterprises into a fire, "going out" to attract money, and shows the world the regional industrial image and brand vitality.
“One meeting is worth a thousand emails.” The relevant person in charge of Shaoxing Zhan Bo Knitting Co., Ltd. stated that "going out" not only provided enterprises with the opportunity to grasp market temperature, but also meant new markets, new consumer groups, and new growth. Since the beginning of this year, the company has participated in multiple domestic and international exhibitions such as the Frankfurt Home Textile Exhibition and the Shanghai Home Textile Exhibition, with fruitful results. At the first Hong Kong Home Textile Exhibition, the company reached an intention to cooperate with multiple direct buyers and large procurement offices from European and American supermarkets, with a total amount of over 200000 US dollars.
Along the vines that extend outwards, more and more enterprises were competing for lucrative foreign trade orders through exhibitions. Since this year, Yuecheng has organized more than 600 enterprises to participate in 18 domestic and foreign exhibitions, including Shanghai Fabric Fair and Hong Kong Fashion Festival, with an intention order of more than 260 million dollars.
In the "Sweet Potato Economy", sweet potato vines extended in all directions, ultimately enabling the tubers to grow thicker and stronger. The expansion of vines also relied on strong support from the root base. Relying on the superposition advantages of high-level Open platform such as comprehensive protection zone, comprehensive pilot zone, and free trade zone linkage innovation zone, foreign trade enterprises across the city have more momentum and more ways to "going out".
Last year, "New Cross border" Shaoxing Zhongze Textile Clothing Co., Ltd. settled in Yuecheng (Binhai) Cross border E-commerce Industrial Park, realizing a leap in cross-border e-commerce trade from 0 to 1.2 million dollars that year. This year, Yuecheng has cultivated the public brand of the "Fashion and World" exhibition for five years, which has also successfully evolved into an overseas self run exhibition. At present, more than 200 enterprises have applied for five overseas exhibitions, and the scale of the participating enterprises has continued to expand.
From a millennium old city to a "hundred billion new city", from a major foreign trade region to a strong foreign trade zone, it can be predicted that Yuecheng is making greater and greater progress in opening up and constantly stepping into a new realm.
